The things we love about Mt. Pleasant are its proximity to the beach, excellent shopping, exquisite dining and recreational activities. Whether you want to find a fun-filled family activity or slip away for a date-night with your significant other, Mt. Pleasant offers it all.
Our neighborhood of Park West is great for families large and small. You can take a short golf cart ride to one of our two pools, play tennis, frequent one of several parks or enjoy a stroll on the pedestrian path that encompasses the entire neighborhood. Enjoy a family friendly atmosphere as Park West hosts multiple community events throughout the year.
We love to enjoy sushi from Locals Bar & Grill, enjoy southwestern cuisine from Sol, hot dogs from Jacks Cosmic Dog, burgers from Sesame, and indulge in desserts at East Bay Deli or Marble Slab Creamery. Dog & Duck is also a short drive or golf cart ride from Park West.
When we bought this property we were drawn to all of the conveniences within our own neighborhood: restaurants, doctors, dentists, a hospital, fitness center, churches, public schools, Publix grocery store, several nail salons, Costco and a soon to open public library...all residing in the neighborhood or within 2 miles of Park West.
The Charleston area is wonderful because it offers something for everyone, regardless of age. The weather is amazing year round and the people are super friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. Charleston boasts great schools, a culture rich in history, beautiful beaches, fine dining, amazing shopping and many family oriented activities (both indoor and outdoor).
A few other things that the Charleston area has to offer include: zip lining, miniature golf/go-carts, painting, Riverdogs baseball, Charleston Battery soccer, and Stingrays hockey! If you prefer the outdoors you can enjoy boating, kayaking, paddle boarding or just simply a day at one of our beautiful beaches.
We love the family-oriented atmosphere that Park West has to offer. Our kids enjoy Trick-or-Treating in many of our neighborhoods, taking a golf cart ride throughout the subdivision to look at all the houses decorated at Christmas time and in the summer, sitting at the crabbing dock looking for egrets, crabs, heron and other beautiful wildlife.
Of course we all like different things but we mostly enjoy the beautiful weather and being outdoors! On any given weekend we can be found exploring the many waterways Charleston has to offer via our boat, enjoying a relaxing kayak ride from our backyard, or participating in one of many recreational sports (both for kids and adults) that the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Dept offers. Our utility costs have been very consistent over the last 8 years. Within this time frame we had 3 new HVAC systems installed which has also been a big help in regulating costs. SCE&G is a very reliable and with all of the power lines buried within the Park West neighborhood, we seldom lost power even during major storms. Our water and irrigation system are supplied by Mount Pleasant Waterworks and we have been very satisfied with their customer service and pricing.
