Why the seller has loved living here:
Our neighborhood is great for meeting new friendly people. We have a group of neighbors who truly love living here and enjoy getting to know each other. It is easy to meet neighbors as most are active and enjoy walking around the numerous ponds or even out to the marsh in the back of the neighborhood. The pool is also a great place to relax and take it easy as well.
We love to eat at The Southern General, the super butt sandwich is a must! We also love Fat Hen for dinner, a drink at the outdoor bar, or one of the best Sunday brunches around. Maria's has the best fresh salsa and frozen drinks on the island.
When we bought the property we were drawn to the close proximity to downtown. We also love that the grocery store and drug store are right around the corner. Having the ACE hardware just down the street is great as well.
The Charleston area is wonderful because it is a beautiful historic city on the coast full of people who love living here. Every weekend feels like a vacation surrounded by beautiful beaches, historic architecture, world class restaurants, and an outdoorsman's paradise.
We love to ride our bikes around the neighborhood and take in the nearby marsh views. We really enjoy picking oysters out of the creek at the end of the street and hosting oyster roasts with our friends and neighbors in our outdoor fireplace in the backyard.
Of course we all like different things, we enjoy being tourists in our own city. We have lived here for almost 20 years and always find new places to explore. We love boating around the harbor and up the Stono, Ashley, and Wando Rivers. The access to great fishing and hunting nearby is great! Most of all we feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful city surrounded by others who love to be here as well.
Our utility costs are much better than we experienced in older rental homes prior to living here. We put in a new HVAC system in 2016 which has also been a big help on regulating costs. SCE&G is a very reliable and we have very seldom lost power even in major storms. St. Johns Water is local to the island and is more affordable than what we experienced with Charleston City Water.
