The bath features tile flooring, dual sink vanity with granite top, tile surround walk in shower with rain shower head and bench. The two secondary bedrooms feature the original hardwood floors that have been refinished. The hall bath has a Jacuzzi tub/shower combination, tile flooring and single vanity sink with granite top.

Step outside onto the new deck and relax in the large back yard with privacy fence.  Carolina Terrace is within walking distances to all of the great stores, restaurants and bars of the triangle area.

The things I love about Charleston, and West Ashley/Carolina Terrace specifically, are proximity to the water, local social and nightlife offerings, easy access to the interstate/airport, a low crime rate, safe neighborhoods and fun neighbors.

WHAT RESIDENTS SAY ABOUT THE AREA:

I love to eat at Al Di La in Avondale. Their gnocchi is the best in town. Avondale Wine and Cheese shop is another great addition to the neighborhood for dine-in parties/events or a quick stop for a bottle. Swig and Swine BBQ is great and the bartenders at Triangle are the best in town.

When I moved to the area, I was drawn to the conveniences of the Harris Teeter, dry-cleaners, restaurants/bars and the proximity to downtown.

The Charleston area is wonderful because it is a perfect mix of old southern charm and history with all the conveniences of modern life. Charleston has distinct and unique neighborhoods that lend to more of a small-town feel. There are constant social and cultural offerings as well as all of the advantages of living close to the water.

Another thing to mention... Food. There are great restaurants on every corner.

I love all of the outdoor activities in Charleston. Bike lanes are popular along with outdoor running trails and kayaking.

Why the seller LOVES living here:

Things I love about Mt. Pleasant are that it one of the largest cities in SC with many conveniences such as a vast array of modern shopping, theaters, dining, and medical establishments all centrally located. Furthermore, my home stands out in that it is located in the charming historical district of Mt. Pleasant (with amazing homes dating back to the 1700's), is one of only a few rare marsh-front properties in the district, is within biking distance of the beach and within minutes of the highly desirable historical downtown Charleston. Charleston is noted as being CondeNaste's "America's Favorite City" and for good reason ... it was one of the original settlements in the US with a variety of European architectural influences, offers world-renowned dining and culture, and is all within a few minutes’ drive from my home.

Although Mt.Pleasant has expanded dramatically over the years, this home is located in its most prestigious original section which is near the beaches, Charleston harbor, and downtown Charleston. Not only is the area not as congested as the newer sections of Mt. Pleasant (making commuting to/from work exponentially less hectic), it maintains the grace, dignity, and historical feel that made the entire area famous. The neighborhood itself is distinguished in that it is served by SC's 5-star rated public schools, including the nearby Mt. Pleasant AcademyMoultrie Middle School, and Wando High School. It is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. Ride your bike to the Pickett Park to observe beautiful Charleston harbor, the islands, and have a picnic or fish from the public piers. Take a stroll down historical Pitt Street, taking in the upscale and old feel of the area, stopping by the Pitt Street Pharmacy for an old fashioned soda or sandwich with your children, the Old Village Post House restaurant for an after-work cocktail or dinner, and watch the sun set over the beautiful Ravenel Bridge and harbor. Live in a neighborhood that is very friendly, safe, and inviting. And live in a house that is a refuge within modern suburbia.... when you come home to 805 Post Oak Drive, you will feel a sense of serenity with a private pond in front of your house and view of the Charleston Harbor, Historic Ft. SumterSullivan's Island Lighthouse flashing in your windows, and the sounds and smells of the sea atmosphere. Enjoy incredible view of high tides which completely cover the marsh and give you the feel of having the ocean in your midst; enjoy watching cruise ships constantly travel to/from the Port of Charleston. You absolutely can't go wrong with choosing this house as your residence both from a quality of life perspective and sound investment.

Mt. Pleasant itself has many enjoyable restaurants within only a few miles of 805 Post Oak Drive and the short drive to downtown Charleston. Some of my favorites include Papa Zuzu's Mediterranean deli, Southern Seasons upscale restaurant and gourmet takeout, the Old Village Post House restaurant, R.B's seafood, and Scratch Taco Boutique. And all the aforementioned are within just a 3 mile radius! If you care to venture to Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre, not only will you find wonderful places to shop and an awesome theatre, but you will be surrounded by many eclectic dining choices as you stroll throughout. If you wish to travel downtown, only a few minutes away, you will immensely enjoy eating at Fulton Five Italian RestaurantHyman's Seafood, Poogan's Porch, and Slightly North of Broad. There are so many restaurants of distinction downtown, you will absolutely find several to suit your taste, as Charleston is becoming recognized as an upscale culinary city.

Concerning conveniences, there are many grocery stories, pharmacies, schools, restaurants, and medical establishments right around the corner. If you become ill, nearby Pitt St. pharmacy is one of the few remaining pharmacies which will deliver medicine to your door. There is a General Practitioner right around the corner if you are not feeling well and a CVS in the same parking lot. Publix, Harris Teeter, and Bi-Lo are within biking/ golf cart distance. If you are searching for a quality of life which offers the best in modern conveniences, you cannot go wrong with this property.

This house is distinguished in that (1) it is one of the most desirable addresses within Mount Pleasant, having a peaceful tidal marsh in the rear and pond in front, (2) was custom designed for the lot maximizing views of Charleston harbor, Ft. Sumter, Sullivan's Island, the majestic lighthouse flashing in your windows, and Isle of Palms. It has a rear deck and porches great for entertaining or just watching the cargo and cruise ships pass by the harbor. Take the 3 minute drive to Sullivan's Island beach each evening or weekend with your family (or ride your bike using the public bike trail), drive across the beautiful modern Ravenel Bridge while taking in views of Charleston harbor en route to fine dining, the historic Battery area, Spoleto Festival USA, parks, and many cultural centers.

We love to stroll down Center Street on the weekends to take a walk out to the historical Pitt Street Bridge, enjoying views of Charleston harbor and the surrounding islands. The historical atmosphere is unparalleled within the United States, as nearby Old Village Mt. Pleasant and downtown Charleston were among the original US settlements from Europe. However, the home itself has such a great ambiance with its many windows, astonishing views, rear sun deck and porches, it is tempting just to remain at home and savor it all or entertain guests.

We enjoy hiking and biking in the area. The Old Village is a great place to walk or bike while taking in the historical atmosphere, Charleston harbor, and meeting friendly neighbors. The Seewee area in nearby Awendaw is also a great place to hike, meditate in the midst of rare Native American ring mounds by the sea, or take the cruise boat for an afternoon hike in the Cape Romain wildlife refuge. A stroll down nearby Patriot's Point marina or Sullivan's Island completes a long day, listening to the calming sounds of the sea and enjoying the view of the Atlantic Ocean, seagulls, dolphins, lighthouses, and wildlife.

Testimonials - What clients are saying about us!

Lynne and Joseph are the ultimate real estate team! After almost giving up on trying to sell my home with a different realtor, they swooped in at the perfect time and had 2 offers on the table for me within a month. They did more for me in 1 month than my previous realtor did for me in 1 1/2 years. Between the two of them, they kept me really informed, and explained every step of the process along the way. I felt like they always had my best interests in mind, and were able to overcome several obstacles in order to get my house sold! I would definitely use The Salt Marsh Team in the future, and would recommend to anyone else looking to buy or sell in the greater Charleston area!

Lynne and Joseph are exceedingly professional. From our first meeting through many phone calls, emails and looking at many homes, they were always responsive and respectful of our goals. Being new to the low country, we felt confidant in the Salt Marsh properties team to guide us through the buying process.

We were able to close on the home we selected in less than 30 days because of Lynne and Josephs responsiveness and sense of urgency in meeting our objectives.

Thanks

Lynne helped me buy a home.  When Lynne didn't know an answer she would have me wait a few minutes and find out, which is the best you can expect from anyone! It was a complicated transaction but we pulled it off. Lynne is very fast at responding to last-minute crises. I think the most important thing to me is that Lynne and Joseph, her teammate who happened to be the listing agent, are good people. I could relax and trust Lynne's advise knowing she had my back. That's really hard to find :)

The things we love about Mount Pleasant are the wide variety of restaurants, shopping, and nearby beaches.

Our neighborhood is great for being a quick walk away from many restaurants, shops, and a great grocery store.

We love to eat at Sol, Great Harvest Bread Company, Amalfi's Italian Restaurant, and TCBY!

When we bought the property we were drawn to the open floor plan, beautiful hardwood floors, double crown molding throughout the house, and granite counter tops.

The Charleston area is wonderful for warm weather and southern hospitality.

A few other things that I can mention are that Mount Pleasant is conveniently located 10 minutes from downtown and 10 minutes to beaches.

Of course we all like different things, we enjoy listening to live music at various restaurants, walking the trails along the marsh at the nearby county park, and riding our beach cruisers at the beach.

Our utility costs are better than we have experienced before. Our electric bill through SCE&G ranges from $80-120/mth. Our water bill through Mount Pleasant Waterworks is typically around $40/mth for two people.

WHAT THE SELLER SAYS:

There are a lot of things we love about living in Hanahan. Probably most important is its central location - we are pretty equal distance to Summerville, downtown and Mt. Pleasant. We're close to great shopping - both Northwood’s Mall and Tanger Outlet are within 10 min. We are also convenient to dining and nightlife in Park Circle area - young professionals tend to frequent this area, and there are a lot of great bars and restaurants perfect for happy hour or dinner close to home.

We love to eat at the restaurants in Park Circle - there is a great variety and also very close to our house. We've both traveled to Ireland and can confirm that Madra Rua is one of the most authentic Irish pubs in the city! EVO has some of the best pizza and a great craft beer selection, like many of the bars in Park Circle. In fact, there is a great local brewery, Coast, not too far from Park Circle... they have regular tasting hours.

When we bought the property we were drawn to its proximity to a very good grocery store - a fairly new BiLo is at the entrance to Tanner Plantation, less than 5 min from our house. We're also within 10 min of the Publix in Goose Creek. There are several really reasonably priced gas stations close by - the Murphy and Circle K tend to have some of the lower gas prices we've seen (my husband checks prices using Gas Buddy and they are regularly the lowest priced... sometimes Costco wins, but not often!)

The Charleston area is consistently voted as a top city for dining and travel - in fact, I just saw today on CNN that we were ranked number 2 (after Kyoto Japan) in Travel + Leisure magazine's list of best cities. You'd be hard pressed to find a better dining experience in the South. Plus, you're close to several beaches and within a 4 hour drive of mountains.
Our neighborhood has sidewalks, so it's great for taking walks together. We're both very into food... and our central location makes it easy to try restaurants in different parts of town, plus we're very close to a number of fantastic restaurants in Park Circle.

My husband is an avid sports fan, and we're lucky to have a number of sports bars within minutes of our house, including Bucca's and LG's by the Creek at the entrance of Tanner Plantation. He is also a runner... besides our own little neighborhood, there are a number of neighborhoods close by that are perfect for running, which adds a little variety to his route. I love to shop, so being close to Northwood’s Mall and Tanger Outlet Mall are big perks!

What the Seller Says:

Things we love about Charleston are the phenomenal selection of unique and delicious restaurants, the history, the limitless selection of things to do (for all ages), the beaches, and the people here.

Our neighborhood is friendly and quiet, enjoyable for all ages with a park and tennis courts, fantastic for location - minutes from downtown, 26, 526, as well as the wonderful Charlestowne Landing!

We love to eat at Firey Ron's Home Team BBQ! We can ride our bikes there!! They have live music throughout the week. We also love Mex 1, The Taco Spot, Mrs. Roses, Groucho’s Deli and all of the wonderful shops and restaurants of the Avondale area (Triangle, Mellow Mushroom, etc)- all of which are seconds from the house.
When we bought the property we were drawn to many different conveniences including Publix being less than a mile from our house, Target and Costco being a quick 5 minute drive, and 26 as well as 526 being right around the corner -- making exploring Charleston easy and convenient.

The West Ashley area of Charleston is wonderful because you are able to enjoy the city without being in the middle of the city. The historical charm is still very present in this area - Charlestowne Landing, the original settlement site of Charleston, is right across the street!

A few other things that I can mention are the schools in the area are fantastic. Orange Grove Elementary School is a top elementary school in Charleston. With a supportive and experienced team of teachers, children as well as parents, will have a wonderful experience!

Of course we all like different things, we enjoy playing tennis (which a park located in our neighborhood), exploring the history of Charleston, as well as the beaches (Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, and Folly Beach) are all a quick 15 minute drive. We LOVE to try the various different restaurants not only in West Ashley, but all around Charleston. Finally, we love to enjoy hosting cookouts, oyster roasts, and anything that would allow us to be outside in the comfort of our home - which the West Ashley part of town has allowed us to do with much larger lot sizes.
