What we love most about Mount Pleasant and the Charleston area is the great food, friendly people and convenience to the beach and waterway. We are able to raise our family in a safe environment with plenty of activities on the weekends.My wife and I lived in Hamlin Park with 3 young children and it was a wonderful community for families. The pool and common area were always well maintained with shaded oak trees and the neighbors were friendly. The holidays were always fun with neighborhood parties and events.
We love to eat at close by restaurants such as Mellow Mushroom, Wild Wing Cafe, On 41, East Bay Deli, Basil, Opal and Wasabi. There are plenty of restaurants minutes away from Hamlin Park.
The Market at Oakland shopping center is less than 3 minutes away with plenty of food and shopping options including a Walmart. There is also a Harris Teeter just 5 minutes away.
The Charleston Area is wonderful because of the amazing scenery and delicious food.
A few other things I can mention are the great walking and biking paths that connect Hamlin Park and Hamlin Plantation.
The location is extremely convenient to the beach and to many Charleston rivers and waterways. You can get to the beach in less than 10 minutes or find a place to fish / kayak in 5 minutes. This location is convenient to many great areas to enjoy in Mount Pleasant.
We enjoy the outdoors and there are plenty of options to get outside around Hamlin Plantation. There is a great hiking trail that connect directly to the neighborhood.
